STAND 8 provides end to end IT solutions to enterprise partners across the United States with offices in Los Angeles, New York, New Jersey, Atlanta and more, including internationally in Mexico, India and Japan.
We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Manager to oversee all aspects of construction on network projects, including vendor selection, on-site management, and coordination of subcontractors, OEM installers, and customer representatives. The ideal candidate will act as an expert on construction issues related to the construction and modification of towers, collocation, Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS), and small cell projects, including in-building iDAS, public right-of-way oDAS, and Small Cells. This role also involves oversight of associated inside and outside plant construction methods, such as above and below-ground fiber installation, hub construction, node construction, and related utility make-ready. The Construction Manager will ensure that all assigned projects are completed within the agreed-upon timeline and budget, following established policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Advise and influence decisions of District and/or Program and Project Managers on all aspects of construction work.
- Actively participate in and make recommendations during the vendor selection process.
- Attend deployment and other customer meetings as the subject matter expert.
- Develop strong customer relationships that may influence customers to award service work.
- Conduct regular site visits during construction, including bid walks, pre-construction walks, in-progress site visits, punch walks, and construction closeout.
- Provide direction to general contractors for ground work.
- Ensure competitive rates for quality construction work.
- Negotiate costs within the project scope, hold vendors accountable to maintain budget, and keep all stakeholders informed of any issues that could impact project completion or costs.
- Problem-solve onsite issues and make recommendations to maintain project timelines and budget.
- Ensure compliance with construction standards, processes, and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and complete project files, and distribute closeout documents timely and in accordance with corporate and customer standards.
- Ensure all jobs are maintained with complete accuracy in the project tracking system.
- Act as a safety observer and Quality Assurance representative onsite, ensuring compliance with safety programs and workmanship practices.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Valid driver's license required
- Minimum of three (3) years of telecommunications/wireless construction experience
- Knowledge of Outside Plant Construction techniques (aerial & underground) for Small Cell Systems (SCS)
- Familiarity with test equipment and techniques for performing RF Sweep test, OTDR, Power Meter, and Passive Intermodulation (PIM) testing for SCS
- Working knowledge of NESC, NEC, and OSHA standards
Skills/Abilities
- Proficiency in budget development and execution
- Understanding of the construction management process
- Knowledge of site acquisition procedures, including regulatory and permitting processes
- Ability to read and understand blueprints
- Ability to direct and diagnose workflow problems, identify critical paths, and implement remedies
- Strong customer service orientation with excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively
- Proficiency in MS Office and project management software
Additional Details
The base range for this contract position is $30 - $40/per hour, depending on experience.
Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
