Job DescriptionWe are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Construction Pre-Qualification Specialist to join our team in Mid-Town Manhattan, New York. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating and pre-qualifying contractors and subcontractors for construction projects, ensuring compliance with company standards and industry regulations.
- Manage and maintain the contractor pre-qualification database, ensuring all information is up-to-date and accurate
- Analyze contractor submissions, including financial statements, safety records, and performance history
- Conduct thorough risk assessments of potential contractors and subcontractors
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to determine specific pre-qualification requirements for each project
- Develop and implement pre-qualification criteria and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Prepare detailed reports on contractor qualifications and recommendations for project teams
- Stay current with industry standards, regulations, and best practices in contractor pre-qualification
- Assist in the development and maintenance of pre-qualification policies and procedures
- Provide support and guidance to contractors throughout the pre-qualification process
- Coordinate with legal and insurance departments to ensure compliance with contractual requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- BA/BS Finance or related curriculum or AA/AS + 2 years of relevant experience in construction finance/risk or HSD/GED + 4 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in construction pre-qualification or related field.
- Proficiency in pre-qualification software and databases (TradeTapp).
- Strong analytical and research skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Experience with contractor evaluation and risk assessment.
- Knowledge of construction industry standards and regulations.
- Understanding of contractor qualification processes.
- Familiarity with construction project management.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
