About the Job
The Construction Technician works under the direction of the Retail Maintenance Coordinator to complete construction projects due to damage, change in layout or improving structures.
Essential Duties
- Building construction, including wood and steel framing, window installation, drywall, concrete work, flooring, roofing, gutters, asphalt, light plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting and demolition.
Job Duties
- Completes assigned tasks accurately, in a timely manner and to quality.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks.
- Maintains standard operating procedures for all facets of the construction maintenance position.
- Maintains proper communication with direct supervisor.
- Maintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance.
- Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
- Respectfully takes direction from supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Knows and understands basic building construction, including wood and steel framing, window installation, door installation, drywall, concrete work, flooring, roofing, gutters, asphalt, light plumbing & electrical, HVAC, painting and demolition.
- Must have a current driver’s license and good driving record. This position requires commuting with a company vehicle tracked by GPS.
- Must have experience with power tools, ladders, and man-lifts.
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job, including bending, kneeling, lifting, and standing.
- Must be able to work on-call as needed.
- Looking for: Detailed oriented person with problem solving skills and 5+ years construction experience. Reliable and punctual. Can take direction and work independently, finishing tasks in a timely manner.

Education & Experience
5+ years of construction experience. High school diploma or GED and one year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses and/or Registrations
A valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and automobile liability coverage or access to an insured vehicle.
Travel Requirement
This position requires frequent travel for up to 75-100% of the position.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Computer Skills
Has advanced basic computer job skills including logging on to systems, ability to communicate by email, ability to compose documents, enter database information, create presentations, download forms, and preserve/backup important data.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
