Continuous Improvement Manager - Reading Truck

About the Job
As a Continuous Improvement (CI) MANAGER for Reading Truck you will be responsible to identify and improve the value stream to improve efficiencies, reduce cost and increase customer satisfaction.
The Nuts and Bolts
- Identify and facilitate process improvement projects to reduce lead time, improve inventory turnover, scrap and rework, direct labor cost savings, and revenue increases
- Conduct root cause analysis - determine metrics, troubleshoot manufacturing/ business and assembly issues, material flow, project plans, production capacity, and facility design
- Lead CI project teams and conduct training to drive cultural change through "learn by doing" exercises and workshops
- Carry out advanced data collection and analysis for process mapping
- Develop budgets, project plans (GANT Charts) and cost analysis to determine project feasibility
- Establish a Standardized Work tool/process and launch with supervisors and TMs
- Support material flow improvements - scheduling (Kanban, sequencing, kitting) and material handling methods
- Establish and manage a 5S improvement plan and a layered process audit process
- Track the CI Team's KPI and provide regular updates on project status and progress
- Improve the upfit efficiency, productivity, and capacity by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and shop/branch layouts
- Prepare Capital Expenditure Requests including financial justifications
- Lead a team of Continuous Improvement and/or Industrial Engineers
- Develop and maintain/reduce standard planned hour rates
- Assist/lead onboarding of new acquisition sites, mentor site leadership to incorporate Reading core competencies
Required Credentials
- 10+ years of professional experience in a manufacturing environment implementing successful Lean transformations
- Lean Certification preferred
- Strong leadership skills with experience in managing a production crew or functional manufacturing area
- Demonstrated ability to teach lean skills and principles through "learn by doing" exercises/workshops
- Ability to work with and influence others in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to travel - frequently by car and plane (+ 60%)
