Position Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly technical Controller to join our Accounting team. The Controller will execute and manage accounting operations, including the financial close process, payroll processes. internal and external reporting, annual audit, and detailed financial analyses. This role is an in-person role based in any of our Dallas, Oklahoma City, or Tulsa offices.

Preference will be given to candidates with direct experience working with a construction or project-based company with at least 100-200 employees and complex inventory considerations.

Main Responsibilities

• Execute monthly close function and reduce processing time.
• Oversee transition from Cash to Accrual-based Accounting and ensure seamless data transition.
• Calculate complex revenue recognition functions for projects and inventory.
• Prepare various high level financial reports and forecasts for review by VP of Finance- such as EBITDA metrics and cash flow forecasts - and identify key areas for focus and further analysis.
• Educate and enforce GAAP and ASC 805 principles across the Accounting department.
• Effectively delegate essential Accounting functions to members of department, and ensure accurate processing of payroll, monthly close, expenses, AR and AP.

Requirements

• Prior technical accounting experience - either through public, audit/assurance, or complex operational accounting
• Platform experience with: ADP, QuickBooks Enterprise, Sage Intacct, CRM, Microsoft Suite
• Ability to create Excel and other data models such as V lookups, pivot tables, etc.
• Experience applying GAAP standards, including complex accounting pronouncements, including ASC 805 (business combinations)
• Must be intensely self- managing, well organized and a self-starter
• Detail oriented, professional, reliable attitude
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Preferred: experience with construction/project based company with complex inventory considerations
• Preferred: prior experience supervising others
