Role Summary:
Working as the Controller, you will oversee all the accounting and control functions for the Compass Group at Google account. This includes all revenue and expense reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and monthly financial reporting requirements.
This position reports into the Regional Controller, Bay Area and will leverage their strong financial and accounting skills to partner with key stakeholders (culinary, hospitality, concept development, procurement, risk management, operations and HR), to promote financial best practices in line with Bon Appetit’s standards and Google Food expectations while maintaining enhanced user experience.
Responsibilities
+ Manage, develop and the support accounting team, including hiring, mentoring, coaching, succession planning, etc. to create a strong financial team that can meet our partners financial goals while managing the food program.
+ Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes.
+ Quarterly forecast support for all units for the client
+ Build and maintain annual internal and client budgets
+ Maintains and reinforces all accounting policies and standards consistently
across the account
+ Review P&L’s weekly prior to post-final close
+ Review accounts receivable on a weekly basis
+ Prepares Monthly Committed Spend
+ Prepares Monthly Accruals
+ Communicate issues/concerns to unit management and regional accountant; assist bookkeepers in resolving individual issues
+ Oversee preparation of Weekly and Monthly financial summary reports to unit management and leadership groups.
+ Attend weekly meetings with site and client leadership teams
+ Create/maintain tools for accounting staff, managers, chefs and leadership
+ OT Reports
+ Weekly spend
+ Dashboards
+ P-Card tracking
+ Review and prepare subsidy billing
+ Track weekly, monthly and quarterly KPI’s for client
+ Maintain on a weekly consolidated budget roll up
+ Annual and on-going budget support (training, questions) for managers and chefs and review budgets by location with Leadership
+ Assist with proformas for new cafés/programs
+ Provide support for client vendor payment systems
+ Ensure invoice process has proper checks and balances
+ Review weekly audits of orders vs invoices to ensure correct vendor payment
+ Upload files on a weekly basis to client accounting system for payment
+ Respond to vendor enquiries as needed
+ Work with vendor relations to ensure purchase orders are funded properly
+ Present information for Quarter Business Discussions (aka quarter reports) and annual strategic review projects as needed
+ Other financial projects as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
+ 4 year college degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration, MBA a plus
+ 7+ years business experience in similar position
+ Powerful communication and presentation skills
+ Individual must possess a demonstrated ability to manage multiple task & priorities, have strong organizational skills, and produce consistently accurate work
+ Team Player and motivator, detail oriented, forward thinking, creative, ability to work under strict deadlines and maintain a consistently stable work environment
+ Able to dynamically and creatively problem solve
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word and Outlook
+ Proficient in Google Docs products including Sheets, Docs, Slides and GMail
