The Role Mission:
The mission of the Financial Controller is to oversee all aspects of financial management within our collective organization. As the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget preparation, and the development of and adherence to internal control policies and procedures.
Your role will also involve financial risk management.The right candidate should be a self starter with the ability and desire to get things done. This is a minimum 40 hour role ONSITE at the Corporate HQ in Nashville (not remote).
This is a key role around which an expanding team will be built. CPA or CMA is highly desired.
Below are many of the key ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee various accounting functions, including Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll Processing, General Ledger, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial transactions.
- Prepare and distribute monthly financial statements timely.
- Assist with regulatory reporting requirements (CMS, IRS, etc..).
- Research and address technical accounting issues to ensure compliance.
- Support/oversee month-end and year-end close processes.
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts.
- Analyze variances and provide insights to improve financial performance.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies.
- Strengthen internal controls to safeguard financial integrity.
- Manage compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Work closely with external auditors during financial audits.

EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree or Higher
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting.
- CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Proven work experience as a Financial Controller.
- At least 5 years of combined accounting and finance experience (public accounting experience a plus).
- Experience in healthcare industry a plus.
- Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Experience with creating financial statements and general ledger functions.
- Excellent accounting software user and administration skills. Experience with NetSuite and QuickBooks Online a plus.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel.
EXPERIENCE:
- Proven work experience as a Financial Controller.
- At least 5 years of combined accounting and finance experience (public accounting experience a plus).
- Healthplan Payor or Physician Practice Management experience
- Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Experience with creating financial statements and general ledger functions.
- Excellent accounting software user and administration skills. Experience with NetSuite and QuickBooks Online a plus.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel
