Controller - Carlisle Residential Properties

Growing property management company is currently seeking a Controller to supervise a small team of Property Accountants, ensuring that all properties in their portfolio have timely & accurate cash management, accounting & financial reporting. The Accounting Manager will be actively engaged in:

Ensure timely & accurate cash management, accounting & financial reporting.

• Ensure that financial statements are accurate and distributed by the due date
• Prepare financial summaries to accompany financial statements
• Maintain the tracking calendar for the closing process
• Ensure that Replacement Reserve Draw requests are completed properly and submitted qtrly
• Perform financial duties for a portfolio of properties
• Evaluate and manage cash throughout the entire portfolio
• Act as subject matter expertise on GAAP
• Assist team with financials or special projects as needed

Perform annual budget and year-end audit activities

• Assist with the annual budget creation and review process
• Prepare annual audit and year-end packages according to deadlines
• Respond to or field any questions asked by external parties to the appropriate person
• Maintain accounting internal controls, policies, and practices
• Update annual insurance & tax escrow calculations

Desired Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting or related field; 5+ years in an Accounting related role, with 2+ years in a management capacity OR a combination of education and experience
• Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
• Property Management experience a plus
• Knowledge of Yardi, Excel and Word
• Ability to influence, lead, & development accounting team members
• Self-starter who can effectively work with competing priorities
• Team player who manages collaboratively with the ability to assist when needed
• Exhibits strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
• Ability to synthesize large quantities of complex data into actionable information
• Excellent business judgment and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail
