Controller Real Estate Investment Firm
The Controller will be involved in all aspects of tax return preparation by the outsourced accounting firm, maintain the general ledger, and liaise with lenders and lawyers on investments. The Controller will also interface with Asset Management and Investor Relations.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain accounting ledgers.
- Oversee K-1 preparation.
- Assist with external audit data collection.
- Create and monitor operating budgets for various business lines.
- Process quarterly investor distributions and external payments to vendors.
- Maintain database of various entities ensuring compliance
- Assist with ad-hoc duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or a related field.
- 5+ years of tax and/or audit/tax experience within public accounting; real estate experience strongly preferred
- CPA a plus
- Proficiency in Excel and QuickBooks.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented
- Ability to work in an entrepreneurial and fast-paced environment.
- Ability to multi-task and manage priorities.
