Our esteemed organization is seeking a seasoned, detail-oriented Controller with a strong background in the construction industry. As a key member of our executive team, you'll play a crucial role in shaping our financial future by using your strategic planning skills, comprehensive financial knowledge, and keen business acumen. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where you can truly make a difference. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting activities, including budget management, financial analysis, payroll, forecasting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all company accounts and investments.
2. Supervise, mentor, and manage a team of financial professionals.
3. Develop and implement plans for budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
4. Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the company.
5. Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation.
6. Produce the company’s financial reports and interpret financial information while recommending further courses of action.
7. Analyze costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results, and the company’s actual performance compared to the business plans.
8. Liaise with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained.
9. Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions of the organization, including systems implementation, budgeting, and financial analysis.
10. Drive the company’s financial planning and performance by analyzing its performance and risks.
11. Retain constant awareness of the company’s financial position and act to prevent problems.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (CPA or CMA) is preferred.
2. Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a senior financial managerial position, preferably within the construction industry.
3. Proven experience with month-end/year-end close processes.
4. Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
5. Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, and cost control principles, and Automated Financial and Accounting Reporting Systems.
6. Proficient in MS Office Suite, particularly strong capabilities in MS Excel. Familiarity with accounting software and ERP systems.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
8. Demonstrated leadership skills with a track record of managing and developing teams.
9. Strong analytical and strategic planning skills.
10. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
11. High attention to detail and accuracy.
12. Ability to direct and supervise.
