Overview:
As Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting and finances of Concordance. This role plays a crucial part in safeguarding the assets of the firm as we scale our operations across the nation.
Your role will involve:
Overseeing accounting and financial operational functions:
- Preparing and maintaining accurate and complete general ledgers
- Processing incoming and outgoing payments
- Processing biweekly payroll
- Managing expense reimbursements within approval processes
- Coordinating and preparing internal and external-facing financial statements
- Working with the Development department on pledge payments, grant applications, payments, and financial reporting
- Working in conjunction with the Concordance Agency team to perform its day-to-day financials
Communicating with Concordance stakeholders:
- Collaborating with Finance and Facilities department to create an annual budget
- Providing senior leadership with timely reviews of the organization’s financial status and progress
- Managing external audits
- Overseeing regulatory reporting
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
The right candidate will come with:
- Passion for our mission
- Strong financial and accounting acumen, including understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and nonprofit financial management
- Skill in financial analysis, reporting, forecasting, and using data to drive decision-making
- Accuracy and attention to detail
Required education, licensure, and experience:
- 5-7+ years of experience in related finance or accounting roles
- Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting preferred
