Job Summary:
Foresight Companies, a privately owned advanced manufacturing firm with a 30-year history, operates from locations in Tempe, AZ, and Penang, Malaysia. Key Financial Management Responsibilities:
- Team Management: Proven ability to lead and develop a finance team of four professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Experience working with other departments, including operations, sales, and supply chain, to drive financial and operational excellence.
- Communication Skills: Strong ability to communicate financial insights and strategies to non-financial stakeholders and senior management.
- Strategic Vision: Ability to develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company's long-term goals and manufacturing objectives.
- Innovation: Ability to drive innovation in financial practices and systems to enhance efficiency and competitiveness.
- Operational Efficiency: Experience in improving operational efficiency and cost control within manufacturing settings.
- Capital Management: Knowledge of capital expenditure planning and management, including investment in plant, equipment, and technology.
- Cash Management: Handle cash flow to ensure liquidity and operational efficiency.
- Financial Projections and Modeling: Develop and maintain financial projections and models to guide business decisions.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed financial analysis by product segment and customer to support strategic planning.
- Margin Improvement: Identify and implement strategies to enhance profit margins.
- Company Metrics: Manage and report on key company performance metrics.
- Tax Credit Documentation: Prepare and organize documentation for Industrial Tax Credits, CHIPS Act incentives, and Research and Development Credits.
- Use Tax Management: Oversee non-Arizona use tax payments to ensure compliance.
- Global Experience: For companies with international operations, experience managing global financial operations and understanding international tax and compliance issues.
- Product Cost Analysis: Provide primary support for analyzing product costs and pricing strategies.
- Financial System Implementation: Develop and implement a structured financial and corporate data system to improve organizational efficiency.
- External Accounting Support: Offer support to external accounting professionals as needed.
- Inventory Valuation: Manage and optimize inventory valuation systems to ensure accurate financial reporting.
This role involves a blend of strategic oversight, financial management, and collaborative responsibilities That will be expected to contribute as a key member of the Senior Management Team, participating in strategic decision-making.
Position Requirements:
- Prior Experience: Demonstrated experience as a CFO in a manufacturing company with 200+ employees, preferably within the manufacturing sector or a closely related industry.
- Leadership in Financial Management: Proven track record of leading financial operations and strategies in large, complex organizations.
- Change Management: Proven track record of leading financial transformations and process improvements within the manufacturing sector.
- Experience with Scaling Operations: Background in managing financial aspects of companies that have scaled or undergone significant growth, including handling increased complexity and operational demands.
- Education: A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; an MBA or relevant advanced degree is often preferred.
- Certifications: Professional certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) are advantageous.
Working Conditions:
The role is primarily office-based, with a dedicated workspace in a corporate office environment located in Tempe, AZ. Ability to work long hours or weekends as needed to meet project deadlines.
Physical stamina to handle the demands of the role, including lifting and moving materials.
Standard Hours: Typically, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with flexibility as needed based on business requirements.
