Job Details
The ideal candidate will possess a proven background in automatic control systems, with experience in electrical hardware design and troubleshooting at both circuit board and system levels. A BSEE, MSEE, or equivalent engineering discipline is required, along with a minimum of two years of relevant experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to product definition during the lifecycle by developing detailed electrical and software/firmware system requirements and design documentation.
- Define hardware for new products, including point-to-point wiring schematics, electrical component specifications, and oversight of electrical equipment fabrication.
- Demonstrate strong initiative and proficiency in troubleshooting for installation, commissioning, and startup tasks. Provide remote support for existing customers as needed.
- Develop and maintain automated product testers and assist with data acquisition projects for product development and testing.
- Develop project schedules, coordinate Integrated Product Team activities, and track subsystem technical status. Interaction with senior management and familiarity with Systems Engineering concepts will also be beneficial.
Required Experience:
- PLC programming according to IEC 61131-3 standards
- Microsoft C# .NET Application Development
- Installation, commissioning, and startup of control systems
- Motion control systems (rotary and linear servo motors)
- Understanding of three-phase power systems
Preferred Experience:
- Embedded C programming
- Development with ARM Cortex M series processors
- Familiarity with electronic systems at the circuit board level
- National Instruments Data Acquisition Hardware, LabVIEW Software, and TestStand Software
- Design experience in Hazardous Location Machine Design, including compliance with North American and European Standards
- Custom control algorithm development and implementation
Requirements:
- BSEE or MSEE (ABET Accredited) or equivalent engineering degree
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an Electrical/Controls Engineer
- Must be a US Citizen
- Enthusiastic about working in a diverse, challenging, and innovative technology environment
- Strong work ethic and ability to work well within a team
- Previous experience in controls and instrumentation application
- Ability to design and simulate control systems
