Salary Range:  $110,000 - $160,000

JOB DESCRIPTION

Czeroislookingfor anexperiencedControlsEngineer withexpertiseindeveloping controlsystems forcomplexmachines. 

Theideal candidate willhave hands-on experiencedeveloping real-time control algorithms for a wide range of targets such as PLCs, HIL systems, and rapid-prototyping controllers.Engineersinthis rolewillworkaspartofanagile,highlycollaborativeR&Dteam thatdesignanddevelopprototype systemsinadvancedautomotive,cleantech,oilandgas,aerospace, andother industries.

AtCzero weworkona widevarietyof projects fortheDepartmentofEnergy,Department ofDefense,Universities,andcompaniesofallsizes,innovatingnew,andfurtherdevelopingexistingmechanical,electromechanical,andelectrohydraulicsystemsandsubsystemsandtheassociatedcontrols. QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Minimum of Bachelor’sdegreein mechanical orelectrical engineeringwithspecialization in controls

Experience required

Minimum of 7+yearsof experiencedevelopingcontrolssystems

Essential capabilities

• Expertisein in all areas of controlsdesign including algorithm design, softwaredevelopment, hardware selection, and system integration.
• Desire and ability to support/preform/lead commissioning, debug, and testing of complex electrical and mechanical systems, located in the lab or the field.
• Deepknowledgeindeveloping controlsalgorithmsin;IEC61131-3, C/C++, MATLAB/Simulink.
• Experienced in developing PLC based controls solutions (preferably Beckhoff)  .
• Knowledge of industrial and automotive communication protocols a must; Modbus, CAN, TCP/IP, etc.
• Knowledge of object-oriented software design practices.
• Proven experience leading complex projects with challenging timelines.
• Strongverbal andwrittencommunicationandinterpersonalskills.
• A passionateinterest, sharedwitheveryoneontheCzeroteam, indevelopingprofitableinnovationsthat makeapositiveglobal impact.
• Commitmentto Czero’sgoalsand a desirefor continuousimprovement.
• Knowledge of object-oriented software design practices.
• Experience with AutoCAD electrical a plus.

• Work with client and internal team to evaluate multiple system architectures and choose the best solution for a particular application.
• Developnewconceptsanddesignsto solvechallengingR&Dprojects.
• Developcontrolsolutionsfordiversedevices, machinesandapplicationsthatincorporatevariouscontrolstrategies.
• Selectandimplement controls hardware(rapidprototypingsystems,dataacquisition,etc.)andsoftwareplatformstosupportdesiredarchitecture.
• Developandtestalgorithmstomeetsystemobjectives.
• Model systemstodetermineexpectedperformance.
• Applyestablishedtoolsforsoftwaredocumentation,adherencetorequirements, versioncontrol, andmeetingsystemobjectivesfor performance andquality.
• Hands-ontesting, validation,andimplementation ofcontrolsystemsinlaboratoryenvironmentsandinthefield.
• Lead projects and interface with client.
• Interface with potential clients and help prepare proposals.

Additional consideration given to those with experience in these areas

• Clean tech, automotive,oilandgas, aerospace or heavyindustrial.
• Developmentofnewhybridarchitectures and intelligentcontrolsystemstoupdatetraditionaltechnologiesforhigher performanceandgreaterefficiency.
• Experience inmachinelearningandartificial intelligence.
• Experience with AutoCAD electrical.
