We are seeking an experienced Controls Engineer with a project-focused background in high-volume industrial or manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate will have expertise in programming and troubleshooting control systems, specifically with Allen Bradley PLCs and HMI systems. This role requires a hands-on engineer who can manage projects, design fault-tolerant systems, and troubleshoot a wide range of automation and control systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program, troubleshoot, and maintain Allen Bradley ControlLogix PLCs and Human Machine Interfaces (HMI/GUI).
- Utilize RSLOGIX5000, Logix Designer, Studio 5000, Factory Talk SE, Ignition, and Cognex systems effectively.
- Design and implement fault-tolerant systems with robust error handling and recovery mechanisms.
- Set up, tune, and troubleshoot Allen Bradley PowerFlex variable frequency drives and Kinetix multi-axis servo drives.
- Configure factory LAN/WAN Ethernet networks and assign IP addresses or nodes to devices.
- Work with various communication protocols, including field bus networks (ProfiNet, DeviceNet, Ethernet/IP), PID tuning, and serial communication (RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, ProfiBus, Modbus RTU).
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in control systems programming, specifically Allen Bradley PLCs.
- Hands-on experience with RSLOGIX5000, Logix Designer, Studio 5000, Factory Talk SE, Ignition, and Cognex.
- Strong understanding of Ethernet and serial communication protocols between PLCs, instruments, and data collection systems.
- Experience selecting and implementing control devices, circuit protectors, sensors, and instrumentation.
- Knowledge of RFID systems, variable frequency drives (VFD), and servo drives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- 8+ years of experience in controls engineering within high-volume industrial or manufacturing environments.
