The Vocational Training Center (VTC) of Fargo, ND is now searching for a candidate to join our Food Services team as a Cook/Food Services Assistant
The Cook/Food Services Assistant provides support to the Food Services Manager by assisting with the preparation, transportation and serving of meals and snacks for supported individuals.
Responsibilities of this position will include, but not limited to:
Kitchen Duties
- Menu planning
- Meal and snack preparation ensuring both quality and quantity
- Transportation of meals and supplies to all VTC locations
- Prepare and assemble portions in accordance with the menu and nutritional guidelines
- Store food in an appropriate manner
- Ensure that food items are properly rotated in storage
- Dispose of expired or near expired products
- Ensure cleanliness of kitchen by following sanitation guidelines
- Assist in managing food inventory and supplies
- Wash dishes and flatware
- Operate and maintain kitchen appliances
- Perform light bookkeeping duties and assist in updating production records
Required:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Current Driver's License
Preferred:
- Prior experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, mental health or other related field.
- Prior experience working in food services environment
