About the Job
Position Purpose:
Assists cooks in the preparation of all items for the Food and Beverage outlets.
Duties:
- Prepare and cook meals according to recipes and portion sizes
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, such as chopping vegetables and marinating meats
- Follow proper food handling and safety procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient meal service
- Adhere to dietary restrictions and special requests from customers
Skills
- Culinary skills: Knowledge of cooking techniques, flavor combinations, and food presentation
- Experience in a dietary department or similar food service environment
- Proficient in food handling and safety practices
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong knife skills for food preparation
- Familiarity with the food industry and its standards
- Previous experience as a cook or in food preparation is preferred, but not required
- Willingness to learn and take direction from senior kitchen staff
- Ability to work well as part of a team
