Coordinator Fitness Center - Institute for Healthy Living - Full Time - CHRISTUS Health

Summary:

This exercise professional assumes responsibility for supervising daily functions/operations of the Fitness Center. These responsibilities include, but not limited to, the supervision, guidance, instruction and leadership of Fitness Center members and staff that result in the smooth operation of the Center and assurance of safe and effective use of exercise equipment and other Center amenities. In addition, this individual assumes responsibility for coordinating staff schedules, development and coordination of exercise and wellness related programs, educational programs and presentations for both healthy and diseased individuals.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for monitoring and maintaining the exercise area, assisting members with their exercise program, and explaining the use of equipment to members.
• Responsible for monitoring member progress as necessary.
• Responsible for processing membership paperwork, fees and leading group exercise/fitness classes.
• Responsible for generating and executing ideas on how to grow membership.

Requirements:

Education/Skills

• Training as a Personal Fitness Trainer preferred
• High school diploma

Experience

• One to two years of experience in a health club or other exercise setting

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

• BLS (American Heart Association)
