Hannaford Supermarkets started out as a fresh produce vendor in Portland, Maine way back in 1883, and is still connected to those early roots as a local market. Hannaford actively seeks out farmers and producers to join our Local program which celebrates not only local foods, but the preservation of farmland, local traditions and local jobs. The connection we have to the source of our fresh foods is core to the way we do business, becoming the first major supermarket in the United States to document that all its seafood products were sustainably harvested.
Position Summary:
Responsible for creating effective communication of department merchandising programs, procedures, and product information.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
> Support the Merchandising Manager in the creation and distribution of promotional strategy (PMP).
> Responsible for updating and maintenance of functional area web page(s).
> Build and communicate seasonal and holiday planning presentations.
> Provide appropriate custom department reporting and analysis.
> Engage in two-way communications with business partners (such as VOR's, Supply Chain/Replenishment, Category).
> Retail travel 5%.
> Act in a manner that motivates peers and reflects an acceptance of change and growth.
> Contribute ideas to support a continuous improvement culture.
> Act as an informal resource for associates with less experience.
> Responsible for the development, talent planning and performance management of self.
Qualifications and Experience:
> Experience working in a professional or retail environment
> Proficient knowledge of and experience with MS office
> Working level of knowledge for company, business and industry practices
> High School Diploma
Preferred:
> 1+ year of merchandising experience preferred
> 1+ year of departmental management leadership preferred
> Thorough understanding of Standard Practices and merchandising techniques
> Experience with the following computer programs: Microsoft Office, SEGA, DSS, LlamaSoft, WMS, PFT, Inforem, Tableau, Revionics, MSP
The pay range for this position is $23.56 - $35.34/hr.
