CoreOS Power and Performance Lab Operations team is seeking a results driven and meticulously organized lab engineer
We manage a fleet of Apple devices for automated and manual test systems which are critical for QA and development for all Apple’s operating systems
This position will provide the opportunity to work with the latest Apple hardware and software
In this position, you will be responsible for supporting thousands of lab devices and developing automation tools to better maintain and expand our fleet.
DescriptionWe are looking for a motivated and service oriented individual, who loves working on infrastructure
You must enjoy working on multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment that fosters growth, teamwork and innovation
Some of your day to day actives will include:
- Maintaining a fleet of thousands of Apple devices and peripherals
- Ensure devices and systems are up and available for testing
- Provisioning and deployment of released/unreleased hardware
- Debugging and trouble shooting device hardware/software failures
- Developing scripts and automation for managing machine configuration and software deployment
- Provide support to engineering in debugging systems
Minimum QualificationsExperience with shell scripting or PythonKnowledge of Ansible or other configuration management toolsFamiliarity with Git or other source control systemsExperience with administrating/troubleshooting macOS, iOSExcellent communication skills are a requirement due to the high level of interaction with engineering teams, management, and other organizations within ApplePreferred QualificationsExperience working with RESTful servicesExperience working with SplunkCore understanding of LAN network infrastructureExperience with common data center infrastructure (HVAC, power distribution, PDUs/UPSes, rack types and capacities etc…)Experience working in fast-paced engineering environmentsPay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range
This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role
The base pay range for this role is between $136,300 and $248,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs
Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan
