CORPORATE PARALEGAL
SUMMARY:
The Connecticut Green Bank ("Green Bank") is seeking a Corporate Paralegal to join its Legal team.
The Green Bank's Corporate Paralegals are responsible for day-to-day oversight of the agency's contract activities and ensure high quality output and service for our projects and programs. They manage the flow of documents for signature and authorization across the Green Bank and facilitate the operation and compliance of the organization's Board of Directors. This position will report jointly to the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel and will have exposure to the Green Bank's entire leadership team.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Individual responsibilities may include:
- Overseeing and coordinating contract negotiation and execution workflow;
- Working collaboratively with other members of the organization with preparation of legal instruments relating to clean energy and environmental infrastructure projects and other related initiatives as needed;
- Developing and maintaining tools to streamline contract workflow, facilitate consistency, and minimize repetition and inefficiency;
- Overseeing the production of legal records and exhibits;
- Performing legal research;
- Coordinating and scheduling appointments, conference calls, governance meetings, and other meetings which may include assembly and distribution of materials;
- Overseeing the production of legal records and exhibits;
- Preparing legal and administrative reports as needed;
- Answering routine correspondence and telephone inquiries;
- Providing energy and environmental infrastructure-related paraprofessional legal assistance to further the mission of the Green Bank, doing so directly with the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel and working collaboratively with all parts of the organization;
- Performing related duties as required.
The overall duties of this position will be refined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the individual hired and the ongoing needs of the team.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
The following minimum qualifications in knowledge, skill, and ability are required:
- Direct experience with contract administration, with particular emphasis on interpersonal and communications skills;
- Problem resolution and negotiation skills;
- Systems knowledge, including a high level proficiency with Microsoft Office;
- Quantitative, research, and analytical skills;
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and budgets;
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Ability to effectively present and execute innovative ideas;
- Strong organizational and analytical skills;
- Ability to quickly aggregate and analyze information;
- Proven ability to build trust, confidence, respect, and effective working relationships among individuals at all levels of the organization and with stakeholders and business partners; and,
- Ability to handle time-sensitive situations with measured calmness and decisiveness.
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
Education: Graduation from a paralegal studies program which earns the candidate a Paralegal Certificate or an Associate or Bachelor's Degree in the field of Paralegal Studies. Other acceptable qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree or other law-related experience.
Experience: In addition, qualified candidates must have a minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in contracts administration, paralegal services, and/or business operation support.
EMPLOYMENT DETAILS:
- This position reports directly to the General Counsel & Chief Legal Officer and Deputy General Counsel.
- It is expected that the position will be based in the Green Bank's Hartford, CT offices, with opportunities for some remote work.
- State of CT benefits package, including generous time-off, health insurance covering medical, dental and vision, retirement, tuition reimbursement for continuing education, and paid leave.
- Salary commensurate with experience, ranging between $85,000 - $110,000.
