Cost Accountant

- Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports on variances by comparing standard costs to actual production costs and provide reports and observations to management
- Prepare and analyze inventory valuations and manage physical inventory counts.
- Establish standard costs and update as appropriate; set up new raw material, packaging, WIP, and FG items.
- Create and maintain production formulas (BOMs), labor models, and monthly cost rolls/updates.
- Interface with operations team to define key metrics to help drive operational decisions
- Provide cost analysis and support for strategic decision-making. Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparation of journal entries.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support inventory management and costing initiatives.
- Partner with operations and finance personnel across business lines to drive process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Ad hoc analysis and projects, as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3+ Years of Cost Accounting Experience ORÂ Manufacturing industry exposure
- Experience with ERP systems; creating database queries preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills.
