Cost Accountant
PrideStaff Financial is working with a growing production business in search of a Cost and Budget Accountant to manage the costing team. The ideal Accountant has experience in a similar role, worked in manufacturing or production industry utilizing SOX / J-SOX along with excellent analytical and communication skills. This is a full-time, in-office, Direct Hire position with an outstanding team in Woodland, CA.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Oversee The Cost Accounting Team & Processes Including Budget Planning & Forecasting
Provide Training to The Accounting Team to Develop Skills & Accurate Reporting
Verify The General ledger & Cost Accounting Data With Bill of Materials, Routings, & Allocations
Monitor & Count Inventory Levels & Implement Strategies to Optimize Inventory Turnover & Minimize Carrying Costs
Perform Presentations For Management Regarding Financial Reports For Metrics & Variances in Reporting
Prepare Yearly Forecasting Reports For Next Year’s Budget Using D365 & Excel
Audit Actual Budget Against Forecasted Budget Targets & Provide Recommendations to Management
Follow Accounting & Company Guidelines to Comply With SOX/J-SOX Requirements
Assist With Additional Accounting Duties as Needed
Requirements & Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
BA/BS in Accounting or Finance Preferred With CPA Certification a Plus
5+ Years in Cost Accounting Experience With 3+ Years in Leadership / Management
Excellent Analytical & Accounting Skills Required
Solid Understanding of Agriculture/Manufacturing Cost Accounting
Solid Understanding of SOX/J-SOX Audits & Reporting
Solid Excel, MS Office, Accounting Software Required
Demonstrates Excellent Communication, Work Ethic & Attention to Detail
