The Tenth Judicial District, which includes eight counties in the Northern Suburbs of the Twin Cities Metro Area, is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Court Operations Associate to join theAnoka CountyCourt Administration team in Anoka, MN.
The Court Operations Associate position is a fast paced, highly detail-oriented position with a variety of responsibilities such as performing advanced clerical work, providing customer service, and ensuring compliance with applicable court rules, policies, and standards to achieve an impartial, accessible, fair, and timely system of justice. As a Court Operations Associate, you will work directly with the public, judges, and other court employees by processing all case types. Duties require the application of independent judgement and the interpretation of established laws, policies, procedures, regulations based on training and knowledge gained through experience on the job.
This AFSCME-represented position is classified as a Court Operations Associate and located in theAnoka County Courthouseat2100 3rd Ave. Anoka, MN 55303, with the possibility of a remote or hybrid work environment. Core business hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm. Initial days off: Saturday, Sunday, and Court Designated Holidays. Work is performed primarily in an office-setting, a public counter and/or in a courtroom.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
The following are examples of major job duties expected of this position:
- Perform the full range of court operations work that may involve responsibility for adult and juvenile criminal court case processing
- Perform a variety of advanced clerical functions in multiple case types
- Provide assistance to attorneys, parties, judges, and the public by responding to a variety of questions in-person, over the phone, by mail, and/or electronically provides requested information in accordance with applicable policies, laws, and procedures.
- Perform courtroom support by working with judges, court reporters, and other justice partners, calling cases, taking notes, and handling documents in the courtroom

- May perform the duties of an Electronic Recording Equipment Operator (EREO) including setting up and testing recording equipment and recording and monitoring court proceedings
- Attends and participates in division/team meetings and trainings; maintains knowledge of court policies, process, and procedures

- High school diploma or equivalent
- One (1) year of relevant job experience or greater, which may include but is not limited to customer service, administrative work, office, and clerical work
NICE TO HAVE
- Proficient in Microsoft office Suite, with the ability to learn other job-related software
- Knowledge of court procedures and policies, laws, legal terminology, and legal factors pertaining to the court.
- Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters and cases appropriately and in compliance with all applicable court rules, policies, and statutes.
- Ability to read and interpret legal documents of varying types and complexity and apply knowledge of specific laws, statutes, rules, policies, and procedures related to the area of assignment
- Knowledge of the organization, operation, function, and jurisdiction of the court.

- Skill in the operation of a personal computer, including electronic case management system and related applications and equipment

- Ability to effectively support court users who have limited experience with the judicial system
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters and files appropriately and in compliance with all applicable court rules, policies, and statutes
