Responsibilities:
2025 GAYLOR ELECTRIC SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM - COLLEGE STUDENTS
- Our summer internship is ideal for anyone interested in starting or increasing their experience in the construction field, specifically in the commercial electrical industry.
- Candidates will perform diverse and challenging tasks throughout their time with GAYLOR ELECTRIC to gain valuable hands on field experience designed to broaden their perspectives in installing, repairing, and altering electrical systems.
- Initiative, punctuality, and a commitment to learn are essential in completing this internship.
Responsibilities and goals include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Will work on a jobsite or prefab department alongside our Helpers, Apprentices and
Journeypersons.
2. Perform installations, alterations, additions, and/or repairs of electrical systems,
conductors, and associated materials and equipment within the residential,
commercial, and/or industrial electrical industry.
3. Under the supervision of an electrician, perform assigned tasks.
4. Learn and familiarize yourself with plan reading.
5. Must keep all materials, tools, and equipment in an orderly fashion, maintain a clean
work area at all times, demonstrate safe work habits, and exhibit proper care for all
tools and equipment.
6. Learn how to bend conduit by hand and Hydraulic benders.
7. Assist in wire pulls for conduit, cable trays, floor ducts and wire ways.
8. Become certified to operate platform lifts.
WHAT YOU OFFER
- Candidates must be prepared to work in a construction environment including regular walking, bending, stooping, reaching, and working off ladders.
- Candidates will receive safety training in orientation.
- Regular "local" travel to job sites is to be expected, so reliable transportation is necessary.
