Tesoro Group is seeking a Land Survey Crew Chief to work with one of our Land Development clients in Las Vegas, NV
- Salary: $120,000-140,000
- A valid driver's license is required, and you must pass a DMV and Drug Screen.
- This position requires 3 to 4 weeks of travel at a time minimum! PER DIEM is $195 and if you work 6 days per week you get it for 7 days.
- 60-85 hours per week on average due to travel time.
Our client is a multi-disciplined Survey and Engineering firm based in Minnesota. They have been in business since 1972 and have been experiencing rapid growth over the past decade. They are a national leader in renewable energy. The company has a strong Civil engineering backbone but has grown into a true multidimensional engineering company including Electrical, Environmental, Geotechnical, and Structural.
The company is divided into two divisions: Power and Land.
- Power includes – Wind, Solar, Transmission, and Substation
- Land includes – Commercial, Residential, Transportation and Public Infrastructure
In this role the Survey Crew Chief will:
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide technical expertise to internal and external clients.
- Adhere to the company’s Safety, Quality Management, and Equipment Maintenance policies.
- Field layout for construction purposes
- Collection of necessary field data to process ALTAs, boundary and design surveys
- Ability to use line coding systems of Westwood design.
- Understand and interpret construction plans.
- Knowledge of and experience with Trimble GPS, Trimble robotic total stations, and differential leveling equipment
- Be passionate about providing the highest level of customer service in the industry.
- Work proactively with coworkers and contractors to maximize efficiency and project performance.
- Must have a clean driving record and valid driver’s license at the time of application.
Physical Requirements
- Physically mobile in and around construction sites and field assignments
- Ability to carry survey equipment and supplies in remote, rural, or urban surroundings.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and walk long distances.
- Physically able to perform the duties normally associated with the position.
Preferred Experience
- An associate degree in Surveying, Engineering Technology, or related area of study
- Land Development, both Commercial and Residential, and Public Infrastructure Projects
- Coordinating activities with office personnel, including surveying technicians and engineering staff
- Experience searching for/recovering Public Land Survey System monuments.
Required Experience
- Ability to effectively lead a survey crew and train/mentor survey crew members
- Must be able to operate a total station and GPS in both static and RTK modes surveying activities pertaining to control networks, boundaries, ALTA’s, topography, and construction staking.
- Must be able to operate a motor vehicle with a valid license and clean driving history
- OSHA 10 and CPR/First Aid or ability and willingness to acquire it
- Must be able perform tasks and solve problems with a high degree of independence
- Basic “office suite” computer skills
