Crew Leader Sanitation - 1-800-Flowers Family of Brands

The Crew Leader is responsible for training, supervision and accuracy of the work being performed by the line staff. Additional responsibilities include training of processes and procedures, assigning personnel to teams and tasks, accurate and timely record keeping, and documentation of employee activities and time keeping. Must have skills to operate, clean, adjust and perform minor maintenance of complex sanitation equipment.


* Trains and verifies personnel duties and tasks.
* Some direct contact with Human Resources/ Employee Relations.
* Assigns personnel to work teams and /or tasks.
* Achieves standards of efficiency, quality, and record accuracy. Assures sanitation is performed accurately, timely and efficiently.
* Uses Basic Principles and confidentiality when dealing with coworkers.
* Reports unsafe or unusual condition of equipment, materials and product to Supervisor.
* Promotes continuous process improvement and waste reduction.
* Ensures safe and sanitary working environment and communicates any sanitation issues to the Supervisor in a timely manner
* Communicates and monitors processes to maintain sanitation quality standards.
* Verifies timesheets/ timecards.
* Operates sanitation equipment
* Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications. Must be fitted for respirator.




* High School diploma or GED Certificate preferred.
* 1-2 years previous work-related experience preferred.
* Must be able to lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds, and the ability to withstand a production environment with exposure to dust, occasional fumes and varying production and cold storage.
* Work performed will be in a production environment with possible exposure to food allergens, dust, varying temperatures, loud noise level and occasional fumes and chemicals.
* Must be flexible regarding job assignments as days, hours and support tasks may vary depending on production needs. Weekends and overtime may be required.
* Follow Bakery Candy Kitchen Food Safety, Dress Code and Sanitation requirements.
* Compliance with company attendance standards.
