About the Role:
The Water Resources Crew Member position performs general maintenance on the City's stormwater infrastructure. Primary duties may include but are not limited to: Operating job-specific equipment, such as single axle and tandem dump trucks, driving a truck and operating equipment during the snow and ice removal program. Crew member will also be responsible for working in confined spaces, installing and repairing stormwater systems both open and closed and working in and around ditches and creeks. Requires working in and around traffic and heavy equipment. Must have ability to understand and carry out written and verbal assignments in a team environment. Some independent judgment is required. Must have ability to apply formal training and techniques (technical & safety) in completing work assignments. Schedule is subject to change during a holiday week or for emergency service which may require working a flexible schedule with little or no notice and may include weekends, nights or holidays. This employee will be assigned to the snow and ice removal program and will be subject to working 12-hour shifts during winter or other weather-related events. The physical requirements include: standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, walking on uneven surfaces, shoveling and heavy lifting up to 50 pounds. Work is performed outside in all weather conditions. Must maintain a reliable means of contact such as home or cell phone to remain in this position. This job is Non-Exempt and is subject to the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)
