The UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute is recruiting a full-time board-certified or board-eligible Cardiology/Critical Care Medicine physician at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Professor, open tenure to join our expanding team!
The successful candidate will practice in a dual capacity within the UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute (HVI) and the University of Pittsburgh Department of Medicine to include clinical, research and teaching responsibilities. He/she will participate in outreach efforts for the HVI, expanding inpatient and outpatient activities at locations within the HVI service area. As a faculty member, the successful candidate will actively participate in the research and educational mission of the HVI.
Job duties include general cardiology coverage in both the inpatient and outpatient setting, including clinical coverage in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CCU) and Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU), and potentially in the cardiology consultative services, ECG analysis, interpretation of transthoracic echocardiograms and performance and interpretation of transesophageal echocardiograms and cardiac nuclear studies as needed or as desired by the applicant. These duties will be performed in rotation with other cardiologists within the practice. After-hours and weekend cardiology coverage will be shared among the group.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications: - Experience as a teacher or mentor of medical students and residents - Board Certified or board eligible in Cardiology and Critical Care - Demonstrated excellent clinic outcomes - Qualified for medical licensure in Pennsylvania

Licensure, Certifications and Clearances: - Pennsylvania medical license, American Board Certification
