About the Job
The Culinary Arts Lab Technician will support the team of Chefs for all culinary arts programming. This position reports to the Director of the Culinary Arts program at the Sedona Center. We are looking for a motivated, independent critical thinker that works quickly and efficiently to perform tasks to prepare for upcoming culinary classes.
Department/Office: Culinary Arts
Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour, 0-19 hours per week depending on department need.
This position will gain marketable work experience by working with Yavapai College staff, Faculty and affiliates in a group effort to support the mission, goals and values of Yavapai College. The Culinary Arts Lab Assistant will support the Culinary Arts program in the following ways:
· Preparation, transportation, set-up, execution and clean up
· Display and practice affective food and workplace safety standards within the culinary learning environments - on or off campus
· Gather, measure, support and preparation supplies and instructional materials required per individual class and facilitator's needs
· Organizing and assisting with maintaining food and non-food storage area's inventory and cleanliness, to include instructional materials and equipment, report or perform minor maintenance issues
· Collaborate and support facilitation of social media content for the culinary program

- Assist with catering events
- Participate in recruitment activities
- Must have driver’s license and clean driving record to perform grocery shopping tasks and/or drive YC van when needed.
