Discover this great opportunity to be a part of our Seasonal Emergency Response Team, called upon in the event of a natural disaster. Serco supports the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) by employing temporary hires to assist with the delivery of disaster assistance for individuals and households.
We are seeking dedicated individuals to provide essential customer service support for FEMA’S relief efforts in a virtual 24/7 remote call center with various 40 hour a week shifts available, days, nights and weekends. This role is crucial in helping those affected by disaster and offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
You will be a part of a team supported by your Supervisor. This initial assignment is approximately 120 days, with the possibility of extension, and may called upon in the event of other natural disasters. This position is fully remote and will pay a minimum of $17.20 per hour plus Health and Welfare of $4.93 per hour.
As a Customer Service Representative, you can expect to:
- Receive inbound participant phone calls and provide appropriate customer service support in accordance with defined FEMA and Serco guidelines. While the position is remote, the work must be performed within the United States.
- Utilize authorized computer systems to gather and confirm information prompted by incoming calls, a laptop will be provided for your use.
- Interpret speech and/or materials in English and Spanish.
- Be able to provide empathetic, efficient and accurate customer service in a professional manner for extended periods of time in accordance with the requirements of the contract.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- The ability to start immediately upon completion of pre-employment requirements.
- A High School diploma.
- 6 months or more of customer service experience.
- Experience working with computers, proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software
- You must have reliable high-speed internet (> 15 mbps) and a defined work area in your home that is reasonably quiet and free of traffic where you can perform confidential phone conversations.
- Must be a US Citizen to be able to obtain your Public Trust Clearance, issued by DHS Department of Homeland Security, which requires the prompt completion of several government forms online and which includes a credit check and other documentation.
- Be able to start training and the position within a week or less after receiving your Public Trust Clearance.
- This position is contingent upon your ability to pass a Serco background check and drug screen.
