Position Overview
Do you like to be at the heart of operations? If you thrive on real-time plan execution, schedule management, problem-solving and accountability, this is the position for you. You’ll be the central point of contact for our commercial and roll-off customers, Drivers and managers. Every day, you’ll see your impact on service quality, safety and asset management. You’ll be a key contributor to successful route execution using precision logistics tools. Full time on-site position 5:00 AM - 1:30 pm Mon. - Fri. Starting pay $21 - $22/hr.
Key Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- At least one year experience in a high-volume dispatch & customer service role
- Customer service/Communication/Collaboration skills
- Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
- Discipline in applying department/company processes and procedures
- Problem-solving and action follow-up skills
- Effective and professional communication skills via email, telephone, and other technological devices
- Proficiency in use of scheduling and communications software applications
- Attention to detail and accuracy in using multiple information sources, including reports and databases
- Reliable attendance in office - Public transportation and rideshares are not effective commuting options for 5 am start time
- U.S. employment authorization
Other Helpful Background
- Associate’s degree or equivalent
- Experience in environmental management, transportation, waste management or logistics industry
- Community service experience

Responsibilities
- Plans, assigns, monitors, and follows-up daily on route assignments
- Assists in determining and maintaining weekly Driver and Helper scheduling
- Proactively maintains high-volume of daily communication with commercial and roll off customers through various forms of communication platforms
- Provides resolutions daily to drivers and management regarding delays, changes, route cancellations, re-routing, and continuous improvement processes
- Ensures dispatch coverage for all residential drivers are met until 7:30 am
- Reviews current day performance / route progress of Commercial and roll-off Drivers and contact each Driver to check in, inform of identified issues and obtain any further feedback
- Serves as an emergency point of contact for Drivers/Helpers on logistics and safety issues
- Ensures same-day service requests or escalations are responded and executed for all commercial and roll-off routes
- Reviews and uploads logistics reports into record systems daily
- Reviews notes provided from Drivers to identify service action items
- Cross trains within residential and customer service departments for coverage during vacations and PTO requests
- Collaborates and maintains scheduling of subhaulers and 3rd party companies that provide services on behalf of Compost Crew
- Complies with department/company processes and procedures such as maintaining logs and databases
- Performs weekly inventory control tasks and maintains such related to the Upper Marlboro facility
- Prepares and distribute daily operational reports prior to the end of shift
- Alongside the Route Supervisor, assists in maintaining a clean and safe facility. Performs random environmental facility inspections and other facility related tasks as needed
- Submits daily morning updates
Schedule
- Schedule - Monday to Friday 5:00 am - 1:30 pm includes 30 minutes unpaid lunch / Saturdays every other week from 6:00 am to 12:00 pm.
- Evening or weekend may be required sometimes to meet business needs
- Location - 7800 Penn Western Court, Upper Marlboro, MD 20772 - Public transportation and rideshares are not effective commuting options for 5 am start time
- Setting - In office daily
