San Mateo County Health is looking for a highly skilled individual to fill the role of Data Analyst. This position is ideal for someone with a keen interest in data analysis, documentation, and the implementation of robust data systems. As a Data Analyst, you will be pivotal in examining and interpreting vast amounts of data to drive informed decision-making within the County. Your responsibilities will cover a diverse range of tasks focused on data accuracy, quality, and utility.
You will be responsible for analyzing and documenting data sources, profiles, populations, requirements, profiling methods, test scenarios, test cases, business objectives, analytical metrics, and data collection methods. This comprehensive analysis will help ensure data integrity and support effective decision-making processes.

This is a limited term, at-will position. Limited Term Employees are assigned to assignments not to exceed three years. They receive medical and dental benefits, similar to regular employees, and a defined contribution retirement plan.

The ideal candidate will possess:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, or Computer Science. Equivalent experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with database systems in a healthcare environment. At least 1 year experience on an implementation project.
- Experience with report validation and verification.
- Experience optimizing reports for performance and usability.
- Experience communicating with technical and non-technical staff regarding data and reports.
- Excellent requirements gathering, analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
