HYBRID: Qualified candidates residing within a 50-mile radius of a hub location listed below will be classified as a Hybrid employee. In a hybrid work arrangement, you will be able to work remotely most of the time, with in-office expectations of 1 time per quarter. This could consist of a multi-dayevent per quarter depending on your leader and business need. Any business travel to your assigned hub associatedwith your in-office expectation would be at your own expense. Your manager will share additional details with you regarding your department’s approach and what it means for you.

As a Data Analytics Engineer you will:

• Work closely with data scientists and business experts to develop modeling solutions for various internal business partners.
• Build and maintain data pipelines for the development, implementation, execution, validation, monitoring, and improvement of data science solutions.
• Enable data driven decision making by applying data analytic techniques, and exploratory research and analysis.
• Understand data infrastructure needed to support data services and automation.
• Establish business domain knowledge for State Farm data sources.
• Investigate, recommend, and initiate acquisition of new data resources from internal and external data sources.
• Identify critical and emerging technologies, techniques, tools, data sources, and platforms in the data engineering field, including cloud-based solutions, that support and extend quantitative analytical solutions.

Required Qualifications:

• Completed bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, or related field.
• 2+ years of professional, post-internship work experience in a computer science- or technology-related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with the Python 3+ programming language and relevant libraries (e.g., Pandas, Numpy).
• Practical experience with building SQL queries.
• Experience in gathering and creating analytic business requirements, researching data sources (internal and external), and developing and maintaining data assets.
• Experience with developing solutions on AWS or other distributed compute platforms.
• Ability to learn and adopt new technologies and languages.
• Experience with data analysis, particularly descriptive and exploratory analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with AWS technologies such as Lambda, Athena, Glue, S3, IAM, and Redshift.
• Working experience with PySpark for data manipulation and processing.
• Proficiency with building and maintaining data pipelines.
• Experience with CI/CD systems, preferably GitLab.
• Familiarity with the model development life cycle.
• Experience with infrastructure as code, preferably with Terraform.
• Understanding of Generative AI technologies such as vector databases and RAG.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate closely with different roles including data scientists, machine learning engineers & other business partners.

The Selection Process:

3. If selected to move forward, you will have the opportunity to participate in a live video interview with members of our hiring team. This interview will provide a chance for us to further assess your technical expertise and suitability for the role.
4. Following the successful completion of the Hiring Team round, competitive candidates may be invited to the final stage of the process: a final loop interview. This round will involve interviews with members of our hiring panel, allowing us to gain deeper insights into your skills, and experiences.

For some California, New York, and CT residents (geographic differential may apply): Salary Range: $113,250-210,000 | Potential yearly incentive pay up to 15% of base salary
For Hawaii residents: Salary Range: Salary Range: $ 90,600-$168,000| Potential yearly incentive pay up to 15% of base salary
For Los Angeles candidates: Pursuant to the Los Angeles Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories.
