Summary - basic function of the role
Data Architect will be responsible for designing and implementing the organization's data architecture to support current and future business needs, leveraging Oracle ERP, OBIEE, and Power BI. This role will drive the creation and implementation of a comprehensive data strategy and governance framework, ensuring the efficient management of data assets and enabling data-driven decision-making. The Data Architect will collaborate with IT and business teams to design scalable and secure data solutions, ensuring seamless integration across systems.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Data Strategy Development : Lead the development and execution of the enterprise-wide data strategy that supports the organization's goals, focusing on maximizing the use of Oracle ERP data and integrating with reporting tools such as OBIEE and Power BI.
- Data Governance : Establish and maintain a robust data governance framework, including policies and processes that ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security. Focus on ensuring high-quality data across Oracle ERP systems and reporting environments.
- Data Integration & Architecture : Design and oversee the data architecture, ensuring seamless integration between Oracle ERP, OBIEE, Power BI, and other systems. Enable efficient data flows and optimize the use of existing platforms for reporting and analytics.
- Data Reporting & Analytics : Collaborate with business intelligence and reporting teams to enhance the reporting capabilities using OBIEE and Power BI. Ensure that data architecture supports real-time reporting, analytics, and insights from Oracle ERP.
- Collaboration with IT and Business Stakeholders : Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure that the data architecture aligns with business goals and supports strategic initiatives. Ensure the data infrastructure meets the needs of various stakeholders, including finance, operations, and supply chain.
- Data Security & Compliance : Implement best practices in data security and ensure that the data architecture complies with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Ensure secure access to Oracle ERP data and sensitive information.
- Cloud and Emerging Technologies : Leverage cloud-based solutions, such as Oracle Cloud, to enhance data architecture, ensuring scalability, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness. Explore new technologies and trends to improve data management and reporting capabilities.
Key Deliverables
- Development and implementation of a comprehensive Data Strategy and Governance Framework within the first 6 months.
- Enhanced integration of Oracle ERP data with OBIEE and Power BI for more efficient and accurate reporting.
- Defined data standards, policies, and best practices for data management across Oracle ERP and reporting platforms.
- Optimized data architecture to support real-time reporting and analytics needs for various business units.
Education and Experience
- Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
- Experience :
- 8+ years of experience in data architecture, data management, or related roles.
- Proven experience working with Oracle ERP, OBIEE, and Power BI, particularly in designing and implementing enterprise-level data strategies and governance frameworks.
- Strong expertise in data integration, data modeling, and database design.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms and big data technologies is a plus.
- Skills :
- Expertise in Oracle ERP data management and integration with OBIEE and Power BI for advanced reporting.
- Strong understanding of data governance principles and best practices in data security and compliance.
- Proficient in data modeling, SQL, and database management systems.
- Experience with ETL tools, data warehouses, and data visualization.
- Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.

Physical Demands
Employee may have to lift documents/work materials up to 30 pounds in weight. Employee will have to be able to walk/climb to a variety of primary work locations, including traveling by air/auto to remote sites. Employee will need to listen, understand, and speak with team members in person, telephonically, and electronically at all levels within a diverse workforce and with supported organizations. Employee is able to work in front of a personal computer and telephone for long periods of time.
Work Environment
Primary work environment is temperature-controlled office setting but may also be visiting different manufacturing facilities where following appropriate safety protocols at the location would be required. Employee will be exposed to low levels of noise in an office.
