ABOUT THIS FEATURED OPPORTUNITY:
Apple's Data Platform (ADP) Solutions Engineering Team is seeking two experienced Solutions Engineers to lead customer deployment, operation, and automation initiatives across cloud-based data infrastructure. In this role, you'll leverage diverse technologies such as Spark, Flink, Kafka, and Ray to build effective solutions for customers. You'll also educate customers on the value of the ADP platform, addressing their challenges, and guiding solutions from proof of concept to production. This position involves close collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams and direct engagement with new customers, supporting their onboarding to ADP, addressing data processing and machine learning needs, and ensuring seamless integration into production.
THE OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU:
As a Solutions Engineer, you'll deploy and operate data services in customer environments with a strong focus on automation, CI/CD, and monitoring to ensure operational reliability. You'll work directly with customers to address their queries and understand their unique requirements, developing solutions that align with their business objectives. Paired with a full-time engineer, you'll support customer onboarding and manage incoming requests, guiding them in leveraging the Apple Data Platform (ADP) for data visualization, machine learning, and other key applications. By collaborating closely with both service and engineering teams, you'll bridge customer needs with technical capabilities, ensuring a smooth transition from onboarding to production-ready solutions.

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS (top 3 must haves)
- Infrastructure Expertise: 8+ years of strong experience with Kubernetes (scaling and operating) and strong experience with AWS.
- Big Data & Open-Source Stack: 5+ years of hands-on experience with big data technologies with a mainstream open-source framework (Spark, Flink, Kafka, Airflow, Iceberg, Ray, Trino, Hive). Must have a proven track record working with large-scale, open-source data platforms.
- Automation & CI/CD: Experience with automation for testing, monitoring, and CI/CD.
- Excellent communication skills: Experience working with customers directly to explain how they would use the infrastructure to build solutions that meet their business goals. Proven ability to work in an agile environment, flexible to adapt to changes.
NICE TO HAVES
- Programming Skills: Basic experience with mainstream programming languages (e.g., Python or Java), including comfort with list operations and loops for simple automation tasks.
- Machine Learning Knowledge: Familiarity with model training, evaluation, or inferencing.
