Overview:We are looking to hire experienced hands-on data science professionals who continuously strive to push boundaries and deliver substantial business value through innovative use of data science / machine learning techniques.
How you'll make an impact:- Identify opportunities for data science / machine learning solutions in a business area and deliver value at scale without any guidance.
- Be an expert in the domain of machine learning / data science and communicate chosen methodologies, analyses, and interpretation of model predictions to business stakeholders.
- Independently take up data science projects and deliver the same to the satisfaction of the end users without any guidance.
- Research through competing solutions to a problem, measure their pros and cons and decide on the optimal approach.
- Identify and extract data needed, assess and remediate for data quality issues, perform feature engineering and undertake other data preparation activities for a large dataset containing millions of records.
- Develop appropriate data science / machine learning models in close collaboration other team members and with product managers.
- Track model performance over a period of time and adjust models to ensure ongoing predictive value.
- Coordinates with technology partners to build and maintain systems necessary for the deployment of developed models and algorithms.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior members of the team without formal supervisory responsibility.
- Review the work of other team members and provide feedback.
- A degree in Data Science / Machine Learning / Statistics / Computer Science or an equivalent subject. Master’s degree will be preferred.
- Should have at least 8 years of full lifecycle experience in data science projects in any industry. Experience in insurance industry will be preferred.
- Should have an excellent understanding of fundamental concepts of data science and machine learning methods and their evaluation methods.
- Should be an expert in Python and its data science libraries like Pandas, Scikit-Learn, Keras, TensorFlow, PyTorch, NumPy, MatPlotLib etc.
- An expert level knowledge and experience of working with NLP, GenAI and Large Language Models.
- Knowledge and experience of working with Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) frameworks like LangChain or Llama Index.
- Ability to effectively communicate highly complex data science concepts in relatively simpler terms to business stakeholders.
- Expertise in writing SQLs for data extraction, data manipulation and analysis.
- Proven ability to lead and drive projects and assignments to completion. Effectively engage and mentor talent.
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and quickly adapting to a new situation.
- Ability to handle and analyze a vast amount of data.
- Experience of working in a cloud based environment preferably Azure Databricks.
Desired Skills:
- A background in claims management, insurance, insurance brokerage, or financial services.
- Knowledge of software engineering best practices such as writing unit tests, using version control (e.g. Git), and writing technical documentation.
- Experience working in an agile environment.
- Experience building data pipelines for larger data sets and using cloud-based tools (i.e. Azure Databricks or Azure ML or AWS).
- Experience with deep learning methods
