Data Scientist - IBM Corporation

Data Scientist, IBM Corporation, Armonk, New York and various unanticipated client sites throughout the US (60% telecommuting permitted): Partner with industrial sector customers to revamp their business operations leveraging Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and big data. Drive stakeholder engagement with senior executives and directors throughout the organization to understand and prioritize their pain points in managing and improving business performance. Identify the problem areas in business which are suitable to be solved by data science approaches and estimate the quantified potential gains. Drive conversations with clients to implement appropriate AI strategies for efficient scaling and maintenance of AI solutions across various dimensions - AI tooling, development, and architecture, AI talent and AI ethics. Identify if the problem is computationally tractable, that there is sufficient data, the quality of the data, if the data is supervised or unsupervised, and features and sparsity of the data. Set project vision and timeline, scope and ensure staffing of adequate resources and support team to mitigate and address issues or risks. Lead teams of data scientists and data engineers to develop data processing and machine learning pipelines to ingest the data required to solve the identified problems. Coordinate between the AI and UI/UX design spaces, whenever applicable, for end-to-end delivery of proposed client solution. Leverage knowledge and experience to identify what algorithmic approaches to take, and lead data science teams to implement the approaches in scalable way. Gather the requirements from the customer and recommend the system design and architecture of end-to-end machine learning asset. Leverage skills in Public Cloud Platforms and containerization to consume the inferences from machine learning model and identifying the data drift. Coach junior data scientists/engineers/team members. Utilize: Python, SQL, Machine Learning, Big Data concept/platforms, R. Required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Statistics, Physics or related (employer will accept a Bachelor's degree plus five (5) years of progressive experience in lieu of a Master’s degree) and one (1) year of experience as a Data Scientist or related.
