Skills:
- Develop, modify, and implement changes as needed to resolve user-reported issues (critical and non-critical basis).
- Manage and monitor database performance, functionality, and capacity. Provide suggestions to optimize performance.
- Design, manage and maintain security groups and permission levels for users within active directory securities.
- Manage and modify the database structure, as required for new/enhanced design elements.
- Manage system allocation and plan future storage requirements for the database system.
- Manage and run software updates and patches to the database and confirm integration to the working environment.
- Manage and run monthly security reports and track identified fields within the database to audit changes and corrections by users.
- Manage and maintain the upload of and the import of data loads to related database tables. Provide operational support for analyzing logs to ensure processes complete successfully.
- Participate in system implementation projects (requirements gathering, database design and development, test documentation/execution, issue identification and resolution) for new system(s), as well as upgrades.
- Use domain knowledge to lead analyzing database effectiveness/efficiency and rationalizing those expectations into an operational solution, document database technical and design requirements. Ensure that any database integration into the enterprise meets system compliance, and interface specifications.
- Lead testing lifecycle, including evaluation and identification of potential problem areas, including making the appropriate database recommendations.
- Lead Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plan planning, drills, data back-up, recovery, and reconciliation testing.
- Attend technical trainings to stay up to date on database technical trends and new technologies.
- Manage and create scripts for data maintenance, back-ups, scheduling jobs, and performance tuning.
- Assess the databases within the network design and recommend hardware, software, and functional needs.
- Manage and perform database transaction and security audits.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field or, an equivalent combination of education and related work experience required.
- Three (3) years’ work experience in Database Administration.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skill with a variety of MS SQL Server data processing and reporting technologies (SSMS, SSRS, C#.Net, VB.Net), Data Warehousing, and ETL as well as capturing data from disparate sources using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
- Demonstrate logical approach to problem solving and high-level analytical capabilities, programming and related technical skills showing ingenuity and creativity, including an attention to detail and an understanding of business processes and constraints.
- Work within a change management framework that incorporates distinct development, test and production environments, solution promotion and deployment processes, as well as solution testing and defect management.
- Demonstrate knowledge of application system infrastructure, technology, and concepts in an enterprise Information Technology environment, with the ability to grasp quickly new technologies, applications, and concepts, and apply them as required.
- Ability to work in a team environment, meet deadlines, mentor, share knowledge and take on responsibility and accountability for assigned areas.
- Ability to organize and structure a growing inventory of database assets and be able to draw and maintain diagrams that can quickly convey the overall context of the environment/solution.
- Demonstrate experience in participating in multiple projects and ability to work with limited supervision, showing creativity, innovation, motivation, initiative, and professionalism. Excellent interpersonal, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey information to non-technical colleagues in a concise and clear way.
- Demonstrate understanding and sensitivity to multi-cultural values, beliefs, and attitudes of both internal and external contacts.
