About the Role: We are seeking a seasoned Data Warehouse Technical Architect to lead our data initiatives. This role is pivotal in shaping our data strategy, ensuring data quality, and driving data-driven decision-making. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our data warehouse infrastructure, while also leading the migration to modern cloud-based solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Architecture and Design:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive data architecture, including data models, data flows, and data quality rules.
- Design and implement data integration and ETL processes using tools like Oracle DataStage and IBM IIB.
- Ensure data consistency, accuracy, and security across the entire data landscape.
- Cloud Migration:
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture to define and execute a cloud migration strategy for data warehouse workloads.
- Leverage cloud platforms like Azure Synapse Analytics, Snowflake, or Google BigQuery to optimize performance and scalability.
- Migrate existing data warehouse components to the cloud, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Data Governance and Management:
- Implement and enforce data governance policies and standards.
- Utilize data governance tools like IGC, IKC, or Collibra to manage data quality, lineage, and metadata.
- Drive data quality initiatives, including data profiling, cleansing, and validation.
- Team Leadership and Mentorship:
- Lead and mentor a team of data engineers and analysts.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the data team.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate them into technical solutions.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience in data warehousing and data architecture
- Strong proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and data modeling techniques
- Expertise in data integration tools like Oracle DataStage and IBM IIB
- Deep knowledge of data governance and metadata management principles
- Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Azure (Synapse Analytics, Data Factory, Data Lake)
- Familiarity with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications in cloud platforms (Azure, Snowflake)
- Experience with data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA)
- Knowledge of automation and AI tools for data warehousing
About the Role:
- Location: Richmond Area (Hybrid)
- Work Arrangement: 2-3 days on-site per week for the first 3 months, then once a month thereafter.
