The System Administration (SA) Senior Analyst’s principal responsibility is to provide highly effective technical support for DTI’s technical infrastructure. Highly effective means that the services for the assigned assets are provided in a way that is efficient, meets the needs of the customers (both DTI and other state agencies) and customers in compliance with DTI policy and procedures. The services will be primarily rendered through a combination of personal effort, joint effort with others in the work group, and collaboration with other DTI staff, vendors, and customers.
The Senior Analyst is expected to possess strong technical proficiency in one or more of the core Technology Domains, technical proficiency in several others, and technical awareness in the rest.
The Technology Domains include the following:
- Server Support
- VMWare Virtualization
- Configuration Management
- Web Engineering Support
The Senior Analyst will report to a Systems Administration Manager.
Selective Requirements must be met in addition to the job requirements. Applicants who do not possess the selective requirement will not be qualified.
- Applicant must possess a high school diploma or GED.
Applicants who do not possess the preferred qualification will still be eligible to compete for this position if job requirements are met.
- Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Telecommunications, I/T discipline or a related field.
- Possess professional certifications commensurate with ADVANCED technical capabilities.
JOB REQUIREMENTS for DTI Systems Administration Senior Analyst
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:
- Possess a minimum of five (5) years technical experience in one or more of the core technical requirements and related product support in a 24x7 operational environment. Experience should include installation and configuration, version testing, debugging, installation of patches, direct technical vendor interactions, tuning and disaster recovery. Specific technical components and/or skills required for each of the Technology Domains are listed below:
- MidRange Server Support such as – Windows or Red Hat Linux
- Middleware Support – SFTP or Cohesity or F5
- Web Engineering Support – WebSphere or Apache or IIS
- Configuration Management – Ansible
- Possess a minimum of 3 years experience in project leadership including defining, evaluating, leading, tracking and reporting on complex multi-resource projects
- Have good communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills
- Possess strong analytical skills, with particular emphasis on identifying creative solutions to IT problems within applicable constraint
