Department Coordinator- Nursing Professional Development - Westchester Medical Center

Job Summary: The Department Coordinator willsupport the VP of Nursing with their administrative needs and assist the other VPs with their programing needs. The Department Coordinator will also coordinate the daily activities for the Department. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Responsibilities:

• Perform policy review and revision to influence best practice standards.
• Perform Ad hoc project management.
• Conduct unit rounds to document any deterrents to the clinical staffing committee requirements.
• Perform monthly nursing partnership meetings; listen to nursing needs and solve any pertinent issues and propose new practices.
• Work with different software to pull, interpret, and compare data. Use data analysis to diagnose deficiencies in operations.
• Analytic support for department analyses to improve the management of staff
• Ongoing decision support in support of operational improvement efforts and business analysis and development.
• Routine reporting to monitor success of improvement efforts.
• Support the monthly nursing dashboard and metric reporting.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Experience: 1-2 years in administration, required.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree from an accredited institution preferred..
