About the Job
Goodman Realty Groupis seeking a highly skilled and experienced Design Associate with a strong background in commercial development, project management, and proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit drafting. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in design, procurement, and furnishing within the commercial real estate sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Drafting:
Develop detailed design plans and construction drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure design accuracy and feasibility.
Create and present design concepts, floor plans, and elevations for commercial projects.
Project Management:
Manage and oversee multiple design projects from conception to completion.
Coordinate with internal teams and external contractors to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Monitor project progress and address any issues that arise to ensure successful project delivery.
Commercial Development:
Participate in the planning and development of commercial properties, including site analysis, space planning, and design development.
Ensure designs meet all regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Conduct feasibility studies and provide design recommendations to enhance property value and functionality.
Procurement and Furnishing:
Manage the procurement process for design-related materials, furniture, and fixtures.
Select and specify appropriate furnishings, finishes, and materials to align with project goals and budgets.
Negotiate with vendors and suppliers to obtain the best terms and prices.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with the development team, clients, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives.
Provide clear and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Prepare and deliver presentations to clients and stakeholders to convey design concepts and project updates.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial development, design, and project management.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other design software. Strong knowledge of building codes, standards, and construction processes.
Project Management: Proven experience managing design projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Procurement Skills: Experience in procuring materials, furniture, and fixtures, with a strong understanding of vendor management and negotiation.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present design concepts and project updates effectively.
Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for design aesthetics and quality.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with sustainable design practices and LEED certification.
Familiarity with 3D rendering software and visualization tools.
