The Opportunity:
The Information Technology department of Perkins Eastman is looking for a team member to join as The Design+Technology Project Lead advances the efficacy of the firm’s design initiatives in the execution of its projects, while guiding and overseeing Design Technology team projects, tasks, and initiatives.
The individual selected as the Design+Technology Project Lead will leverage strong knowledge of AEC industry standards, tools, and practices to support and improve workflow collaboration and efficiencies throughout project delivery.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Coordinate, guide, and oversee the projects, tasks, and efforts of the Design Technology team.
- Self-manage and deliver tasks, projects & initiatives, assigned by the team’s Manager(s).
- Provide second tier customer support to design/production staff across multiple offices.
- When and where applicable, coordinate support between external vendors and internal staff.
- Train and educate staff in the use of design tools, company standards and best practices.
- Coordinate efforts in development, testing and implementation of design tools and services.
- Develop and ratify interoperability workflows between various design applications/platforms.
- Support render farm job management and use of cross platform render plug-ins & workflows.
- Develop recommendations and best practices in the use of 3D Printing and Laser Cutting tools.
- Create and review Design+Technology learning materials (How To’s, User Guides, etc.)
- Maintain high awareness of related design software, (incl. add-ons, plug-ins, apps, etc.)
- Liaise with firm-wide BIM Leads, Digital Practice Group, Sustainability and Specifications groups.
- May involve some travel between regional offices and or project sites for training and support.
BIM Responsibilities:
- Provide BIM support across multiple projects, office locations and project sites.
- Perform post-training project shadowing to foster improved staff knowledge and adoption.
- Create and vet staff submitted BIM content and templates for firm-wide libraries/resources.
- As needed, participate in Project BIM meetings to provide guidance to BIM Leads.
- Assist in early decision making on project setup based on contractual or collaboration needs.
- Regularly review models to ensure adherence with company and project standards.
- Support Project BIM Leads and Teams in troubleshooting problematic files/workflows.
Collaboration:
- Maintain close working relationships with the following:
- Other firm-wide Design+Technology Specialists, Project Leads & Managers
- Digital Practice Group, BIM Leadership and Sustainability Committees
- BIM Project Leads and Project Information Coordinators
- Applications Team, General IT Team, and Department Leadership
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master of Architecture degree
- 2+ years of experience overseeing the projects and tasks of a small-to-medium Design Technology team, with demonstrable successes in organization and delivery of team initiatives.
- 5+ years design/production/support experience with: AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, 3ds Max Design, ArcGIS,
- SketchUp, Rhino and supporting tools incl. Newforma, Bluebeam, V-Ray, Enscape, Lumion, Sefaira, etc.
- Proficiency in use and support of MS PowerPoint as a presentation tool and Adobe/Affinity Creative Suites of applications, incl. Acrobat, Photoshop/Photo, InDesign/Publisher, Illustrator/Designer, After Effects, Premiere, etc.
- Familiarity with Autodesk Revit API & Dynamo, as well as Grasshopper for Rhino, are pluses.
- Familiarity with use of Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Reality tools and platforms, a plus.
- Knowledge and experience with scripting languages, workflow automation and data/dashboard analysis, are pluses.
- 3 of 5+ years of experience as a Project BIM Lead providing direct CAD/BIM support to project teams, involving team/project guidance and solutions development and/or as a fulltime BIM/Revit Support Specialist at an office, region, or firm wide level.
Location: We are currently hiring for any of our Perkins Eastman US offices only, the ideal candidate must live near one of these offices. (We do not offer relocation assistance).
Type: Hybrid. 3 days in office 2 days working remotely, flexible days/working hours.

Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographical work location.
Salary Range: $95k to $105k
