Summary:
The Desktop Support Specialist (DSS) supports and maintains Direct Marketing Solutions (DMS) computer hardware and software systems. The DSS installs new programs, manages updates, and provides technical support.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manages and addresses Help Desk tickets in a timely manner and follows up with employees to ensure issues are resolved.
- Ensures technology is accessible and equipped with current hardware and software.
- Provides individual training and support to employees on request via phone, email, and computer chat.
- Maintains an accurate inventory of technology hardware, software, and resources.
- Makes recommendations for purchase of technology resources.
- Installs work stations, sets up hardware, loads required software, and provides network access.
- Inputs and maintains IP addresses.
- Advises staff of security breaches and changes in security status.
- Strips and secures hardware for disposal.
- Maintains and monitors DMS security systems.
- Completes additional assignments and special projects from the Information Technology Manager as needed.
Requirements:
- Associate's Degree in related field or equivalent experience
- Two years' relevant experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Office, and basic macOS
- Customer-service attitude and orientation
- Strong organization and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to diagnose and resolve issues with computer hardware, software, and networks
