LiveRamp is looking for an experienced leader to head our DevOps team
This team is responsible for building, operating, and managing LiveRamp’s cloud infrastructure
A blend of infrastructure skill sets makes this a cross-functional team which delivers the technology that powers our cloud based SaaS solution
Our projects range from working with leading edge cloud-native services to big data cloud infrastructure to reliability instrumentation and monitoring
This position will report into the Infrastructure Organization - which is part of Engineering - and partner closely with other technical leads across Engineering
It will be a mixture of hands-on technical work and team leadership work.We’re looking for someone that has technical breadth and depth in cloud infrastructure
You will act as a thought leader, mentor and facilitator, while offering guidance to technical teams on GCP and AWS Cloud Infrastructure tooling and best practices
In this role, you will have the opportunity to create industry best practices for deployment and management of custom built or off the shelf solutions in a public cloud environment.You will:Lead, mentor, and manage a team of DevOps engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvementSet clear objectives and goals for the team, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic prioritiesConduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify opportunities for professional growthLead and provide subject matter expertise and Architectural patterns for GCP/AWS Architect and implement solutions to improve deployment process and CI/CD capabilitiesPromote an infrastructure-as-code philosophy, leveraging tools like Terraform, Cloudformation, Kubernetes, and DockerLead cloud improvements for availability, performance, observability, scalability, quality, and cost effectiveness.Lead and own creation of cloud focused best practices, building blocks, and patterns to ensure deployed solutions are scalable, immutable, and resilientLead and collaborate with technical, application, and security leads to deliver a reliable and secure platform in GCP/AWS cloudsEnsure cloud solutions are implemented and delivered with best practices, standards, appropriate controls, and thorough documentationProvide technical governance for infrastructure design, deployment, and operationsSupport a global engineering organization based in Boston, California, New York, Paris, London, and Nantong, ChinaParticipate in an on-call rotationYour team will: Support an entire engineering organization based in California, New York, Paris, London, and Nantong, ChinaLead and collaborate with technical, application, and security leads to deliver a reliable and secure platform on GCP and AWSLead the cloud improvements for availability, performance, observability, scalability, quality, and cost effectivenessLead and own the creation of cloud-focused best practices, building blocks, and patterns to ensure deployed solutions are scalable, immutable, and resilientFunction as stewards for shared data, services, tools, processes, and libraries.About you: 7+ years of experience in the fields of DevOps, SRE, or production engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management positionExperienced architecting complex cloud environments that leverage industry best practicesExperience deploying and supporting containerized applications with Kubernetes, GKE, EKS, or the likeExperienced with deployment and monitoring of highly scalable productsExperienced with continuous integration and automation servers like Jenkins, CircleCI, or similarExperience with infrastructure-as-code tooling in the cloud like Terraform or CloudFormationComfortable with shell scripting and fluent in at least one of Ruby, Java, or GoExperience with DevOps best practices, working knowledge of observability principles is a big plusAbility to lead and mentor other engineers in the team for DevOps best practicesAbility to diagnose technical problems, debug code, and automate routine tasksExperience with securing systems in a public cloud environmentBonus Points:Enjoys working as part of a distributed team: smart, ethical, friendly, hard-working, and productiveUnderstands how to engage other engineering teams as customersBenefits:People: work with talented, collaborative, and friendly people who love what they do.In-Office Food: enjoy catered meals, boundless snacks, and the occasional food truck.Fun: we host in-person and virtual events such as game nights, happy hours, and sports leagues.
