The Role
As a Development Assistant at Global Arts Live, you will play a key role in our expanding Development department. Reporting to the Director of Advancement and working closely with the CEO, Board of Directors, and other staff, you will provide crucial operational and administrative support for all fundraising campaigns. This role offers a comprehensive view of the development function and opportunities for professional growth. You will be encouraged to take on increasing responsibilities as you develop your skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fundraising Support:
- Assist the Individual Giving Coordinator with member appeals, new member acquisition, membership benefits fulfillment, thank you calls, and achieving annual membership goals.
- Process gifts and acknowledgments for members and donors.
- Board and Administrative Support:
- Facilitate Board communications and logistics, including scheduling and attending meetings, recording minutes, and maintaining Board archives.
- Track fundraising metrics, generate financial reports, and update department web pages.
- Concerts and Events:
- Coordinate logistics for special events such as galas and membership receptions.
- Assist with ticketing, patron/member engagement, and customer service.
- Staff information table at select concerts to foster engagement with patrons.
- General Duties:
- Contribute to organizational health and growth, and support the goals of equity, diversity, inclusion, and access.
Work Environment:
- The office is located at 720 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA, and concerts are held in various locations in Boston, Somerville, and Cambridge.
- Combination of office work and event participation, with some flexibility for remote work.
- Full-time position with occasional night and weekend work.
What You'll Bring to the Team

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 1-2 years of experience in fundraising activities preferred.
- Commitment to authentic work with diverse communities and advancing anti-racism.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
- Experience with databases, ticketing systems, or CRMs is a plus.
- Ability to sit for extended periods, walk up and down stairs, and lift up to 30 lbs.
