About the Position:
The Development and Outreach Specialist will play a pivotal role in advancing the mission of The Women's Center by increasing community awareness of our services, supporting fundraising initiatives, and enhancing outreach efforts. This role includes planning, executing, and assessing fundraising campaigns, donor relationships, community engagement, and marketing efforts.
Development Specific:
- Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to expand the donor base and increase donation contributions.
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing fundraising campaigns and events throughout the year, to generate financial support for the organization and strategically use these events to identify, cultivate, and engage donors.
- Conduct research for potential corporate and major gift donors through various tools.
- Maintain the donor database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records of donor information and contributions.
- Assist in developing personalized stewardship plans to acknowledge and recognize donors for their support.
- Regularly communicate with donors and potential donors through various channels to provide updates on the organization's activities and impact.
- Manage the logistics of fundraising mailings, such as invitations, donor updates, and appeal letters, and create reports to analyze fundraising progress, direct mail responses, and campaign effectiveness.
Outreach Specific:
- Support the development and implementation of outreach strategies to promote The Women's Center's programs, events, and initiatives.
- Assist in creating compelling outreach materials, including brochures, newsletters, and social media content, to engage with donors and the community.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure brand consistency and messaging alignment across all outreach channels.
- Assist in establishing partnerships with community organizations, schools, businesses, and other stakeholders to expand outreach efforts and reach diverse audiences.
- Plan, organize, promote, and represent the organization at events such as human services fairs, school or community forums, and panel discussions.
- Collect and analyze data to measure the impact and effectiveness of outreach programs.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations based on findings to support program improvement and inform stakeholders.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Community Services Director.

With expertise in networking and community engagement, coupled with robust organizational and project management abilities, you'll excel in prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines. Additionally, your discretion and ability to handle confidential information.
You'll Stand Out If:
- You have an Associate or Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, communication, marketing, or a related field,
- You have at least three years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, marketing, or outreach within a nonprofit setting.
- You are a technology savvy - proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, CRM databases (e.g., Bloomerang), and tools for program delivery, outreach, and donor research.
- You have experience working in survivor-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally competent environments.
