Development Services Representative Job Summary:
Under general supervision, is responsible for providing development related information and reviewing and processing residential and other development requests and applications. Working conditions are primarily inside an office environment with occasional visits to outdoor construction sites. Exercises no supervision.
Development Services Representative Responsibilities:
- Responds to customer inquiries.
- Provides procedural consultation services regarding residential construction.
- Intakes,processesand issues residential trade permits.
- Receives residential plan and reviews for completion.
- Reviews residential plans under 1,000 square feet and master plans and ensures compliance.
- Coordinates the review of new residential construction and residential additions over 1,000 square feet.
- Intakes,processesand issues Certificates of Occupancy.
- Accepts applications for trade licenses, verifies eligibility, and issues licenses.
- Accepts development related applications such as platting, zoning, Board of Adjustments, and CPS.
- Performs various administrative functions.
- Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
Development Services Representative Knowledge & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency).
- Two (2) years of customer service experience.
- Advanced knowledge of the current adopted Unified Development Code (UDC).
- Skill in providing exceptional customer service.
- Skill in resolving customer problems in a professional and courteous manner.
- Skill in utilizing a personal computer and associated software programs.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and the general public.
