| The Dialysis Technician Lead oversees the work activities of Dialysis Technicians. Working under moderate supervision, this role oversees the Quality Control (QC) results, provides machine repair and water system maintenance, provides basic nursing care, and carries out technical procedures as directed by the Dialysis Registered Nurse. |
Responsibilities:
| Prepares for dialysis treatments by priming machines, performing safety checks, and documenting any issues to the appropriate dialysis Registered Nurse. Ensures safe and appropriate use and removal of disinfection chemicals for machines and water system prior to patient use in order to uphold safety protocols. Supports with the development and evaluation of competency-based orientation programs for dialysis Technicians. Maintains proper inventory levels on ALL supplies and other items necessary in order to maintain department operations. Oversees that unsafe conditions are reported to the appropriate department and initiates an action plan in collaboration with dialysis Registered Nurses. Performs other duties as assigned. |
| EDUCATION: |
| Required: High School diploma or equivalent |
| EXPERIENCE: |
| Required: 1-2 years of Nephrology experience to include Hemodialysis (HD) |
| LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING: |
| Required: Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Certification (CCHT) BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider |
